On Tuesday, Jo met with Sally Flatteau Taylor, Founder and Chief Executive of the Maypole Project, an Orpington based charity that provides psychological and social support to children with complex medical needs in South East London.
The Maypole Project offers a range of amenities including activity days, art groups, a befriending service, counselling by qualified staff and volunteers, and a dedicated telephone line that provides help and advice to families that are dealing with both emotional and practical issues.
Sally was attending an event in Westminster hosted by Together for Short Lives, an umbrella organisation that supports children’s hospices and palliative care providers across the country. The meeting provided the opportunity for Jo and Sally to discuss the delivery of care for children in South East London; and the amazing work that the Maypole Project does for children with life limiting illnesses, and their families.
