Following a hard-fought campaign, Jo Johnson was re-elected to represent the Orpington constituency in Parliament.
Jo received 31,762 votes, securing a majority of 19,453 over his nearest rival. Jo improved his share of the vote in Orpington to 62.9%, an increase of 5.5% from the 2015 election.
Jo said: ‘I am delighted and honoured to have been re-elected to represent Orpington in Westminster. I would like to thank all those who have contributed to my campaign over the past six weeks, and pay tribute to my fellow candidates for the good-nature with which this campaign has been fought.
‘We as elected politicians must listen closely to what voters are telling us and provide strong and responsible government for the country. I will work hard to justify the confidence the people of Orpington have once again decided to place in me.’
