Jo praises London's Air Ambulance on 25 years of service

London's Air Ambulance, the charity which delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London, commemorated 25 years of saving lives on 9 January 2014. Since its inception in 1989, over 30,000 critically injured patients have been treated in London and the service has attended most major incidents. The Service relies heavily on the generosity of the people of London and is fundraising this year to acquire a second helicopter and recruit pilots and crew to extend its daylight flying hours, which will enable the service to reach an estimated further 400 patients a year.

Jo says: 'London's Air Ambulance is a fantastic service for London, has a deserved international reputation for clinical excellence and delivers pioneering procedures, which have been adopted across the world. In 2013, the Air Ambulance attended 1819 patient missions, including 12 in and around the Orpington constituency. The Air Ambulance really can make the difference between life and death and I urge Londoners to support this vital cause.  I am also aware of the excellent work that Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance offers residents and thank them too for their service and dedication."
