Jo Johnson MP, President of Orpington Football Club, recently met with club committee members to discuss plans for a new pavilion at Goddington Park. Jo met Club Chairman Richard Kettle, Club Secretary & Head Groundsman Paul Wade, Groundsman Jake Wade, and Treasurer Laurence Covill, who showed him the old pavilion and discussed future plans for the club.
The club is currently drawing up plans to redevelop the pavilion site to better meet the needs of its 25+ teams, which range from Under 7s to a Men’s Veterans team. Jo also learnt about the clubs fundraising ambitions.
2019 also sees the club's sponsorship by Walkers the Builder's Merchant coming to an end after 7 years. The club is actively seeking a new sponsor, as well as offering individual team sponsorships.
Jo said ‘As club president, I am delighted that good progress is being made towards a new pavilion. While plans are still in their early stages, a new pavilion would enhance the club’s facilities greatly and support the work of the club. I hope that members of the local community will support the club’s fundraising efforts in coming weeks and months.’
