Jo Johnson MP wishes his constituents a merry Christmas and a happy New Year

As I reflect on the year behind us, I am so grateful to be your Member of Parliament and to have the opportunity to sit in the House of Commons as your representative.

It was a great honour to be elected for a third time to this privileged position in June this year. It was fantastic to meet so many of you along the campaign trail - it is always a good time to hear the views of constituents. I am here to represent you in Westminster and it is important to me to know about your concerns. This year's postbag has contained a mix of policy-related matters, local issues and personal issues and I am here to answer your questions and offer any assistance I can.

Very many thanks to all who took part in my Christmas card competition. This year I invited photographic entries from constituents and was looking for a picture that shows the Orpington constituency at its best. Congratulations to Alan Graham, whose wonderful photograph, titled Frosty the Robin, was chosen as a very deserving winner. Congratulations also go to the runner-up, Wendy Carless, who took a beautiful photograph of sheep grazing on Oaklands Lane. Both are pictured above.

It just remains for me to wish you and your families a very merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.
