Jo will lay a wreath at Orpington War Memorial this Sunday. The wreath laying ceremony will be followed by a service in All Saint’s Church. The ceremony will begin at 10:40am at the memorial, prior to the two minutes silence at 11am.
Remembrance Sunday will be all the more poignant this year as it falls on the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War. As well as remembering those who died between 1914 and 1918, services across the country will remember those who have died in conflicts up to the present day.
Earlier this year, Jo was pleased to speak to representatives of the Royal British Legion who described the work that the RBL does to support ex-servicemen. This year, the RBL are running their ‘Thank You’ campaign, to remember the sacrifice of the generation who lived through the First World War. More information about the campaign can be found online here.
