Farnborough Hill bus depot fire

There has been a fire at the bus depot in Farnborough Hill.

London Fire Brigade report:

'Around 60 firefighters tackled a fire at a bus depot on Farnborough Hill in Orpington this morning.

At the height of the blaze, eleven buses were alight and Brigade control officers took around 40 calls to the incident which was very visible.

Crews worked hard to stop the blaze from spreading to more buses and around 30 vehicles were moved to safety.

Seven buses were complete destroyed by the fire and a further four are badly damaged. There were no reports of any injuries.

While the fire is now under control, crews will remain in the area for some time damping down the affected vehicles.

Eight fire engines attended from stations including Orpington, Biggin Hill, Sidcup and Bromley fire stations.

The Brigade was called at 0336 and the fire was under control at 0631.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.'
