Last week Jo was delighted to join Mayor Kim Botting to help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Petts Wood Playgroup for Children with Special Needs (PWPG).
Held at Christ Church United Reform Church on Willett Way, the event was an opportunity to mark the achievements of PWPG and thank the dedicated volunteers who remain vital to PWPG’s longevity and success. Jo spoke with playgroup leader Mrs Larry Simpson as well as chair of the PWPG committee, Dr Menaka de Silva, while touring PWPG’s facilities.
Jo and Mayor Botting looked over photographs documenting PWPG’s 50 years at the heart of the Petts Wood community before heading outside to see the outside play area.
Jo said, ‘It was fantastic to see so many engaged volunteers dedicated to improving the lives of children with special needs. PWPG provides services for children from across Bromley and I wish them all the best on their 50th anniversary.’
