Keep Orpington moving

I am working hard to maintain and improve transport connections across the constituency, from rail services at Orpington, Chelsfield, Petts Wood and St Mary Cray, to bus services in Biggin Hill.

I will continue to press Southeastern for improved service for all rail users, with particular focus on peak time commuter services. I recognise the challenges faced by Britain’s ageing railways, however I believe improvements can be made to services to and from stations in the constituency. I am in regular contact with the management at Southeastern and will continue to campaign for further improved services for hard-working commuters.

I work closely with local councillors to ensure roads are kept to a high standard and engage regularly with utility companies regarding disruption caused by essential maintenance work.

Bus services, provided by Transport for London and other operators, are vital for many constituents. Buses are particularly important in areas not serviced by railways such as Biggin Hill and Downe. I have contacted Transport for London on a number of occasions regarding issues with bus services and will continue to raise constituent issues with bus operators.
