Jo says extra trains 'good news' for Orpington commuters
Thursday, 10 November 2011 13:42

evening_trainJo has welcomed news of additional early morning and late evening trains from Orpington.  Southeastern, the franchise which currently operates trains through Orpington, Petts Wood, St Mary Cray Rail, Chelsfield and Knockholt stations, said that the increase was in response to passenger requests.  In particular, on weekdays there will be an extra morning service into Charing Cross departing Orpington at 0515 as well as an evening service departing Charing Cross at 00.06.  The changes will take place from Sunday 11 December.

Jo said: "I am pleased that Southeastern seem to be responding to the demands of passengers and the need for extra capacity.  This is especially good news for commuters working long hours.  Nevertheless, I will continue to keep up the pressure for fast trains from Orpington at peak times.  Improving value for money on all services will also remain a top priority".
